Joanne Smith

Joanne has more than 30 years of industry experience.

Her career in financial services began in 1991 in an advisory role, before she moved into compliance in 1997 when she had her first child. Ever since, she’s worked as a compliance consultant with small and medium-sized IFAs.

Joanne has a wide range of experience in all elements of compliance, as well as training and competence.

With B-Compliant, Joanne’s main role is as a file reviewer and she holds the CII diploma in regulated financial planning.

In her spare time, Joanne likes visiting new places and often takes a few days out to drive through parts of Europe. Together with her family, she loves the snow and especially enjoys skiing holidays.

Most of Joanne’s time out of work is spent in her garden. As well as her flowerbeds, she has a polytunnel and a veggie patch that provides most of the family’s vegetables and salad for the year.

One of her favourite things is just to spend time with her grown-up kids, at home or at theirs.
